Another measure of our performance is the external recognition we receive for our initiatives and
operational excellence. We received the following significant awards and recognition in 2006-2007.
2006
- In December, Agrium won the Award of
Excellence in Corporate Reporting-Diversified
Industries
from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. The award recognizes annual, electronic,
governance and sustainability reporting. - We won Retail Environmental Respect Awards,
in the United States, for 2006 and 2007 as
issued
by DuPont, and Croplife and Farm Chemicals International magazines.
2007
- Agrium was recognized by Mediacorp Canada Inc. as a Top 25 employer in Alberta.
- We were named one of the Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada by Corporate Knights magazine.
- Agrium received the highest possible rating of ten out of ten from Governance Metrics International (GMI), an independent New York-based corporate governance research and ratings agency.
- We outperformed over 99 percent of the companies on the S&P/TSX Composite Index according to the Institutional Shareholder Services' (ISS) Corporate Governance Quotient rating system.
- Canadian Business magazine lists Agrium's Board as one of the top three in Canada.
- We received a Board Shareholder Confidence Index rating of AAA from the University of Toronto's Joseph L. Rotman School of Management.
- Agrium's Board ranked 10th - with a 92/100 score - out of 190 companies listed on the S&P/TSX Composite Index in the Globe and Mail's review of Canadian boards. In preparing the ranking, each company's policies concerning Board composition, execution compensation, shareholder rights, and disclosure were reviewed.
- Agrium is one of 60 Canadian companies that passed a set of social and environmental screens for inclusion in the Jantzi Social Index of common stocks.
- Agrium Advanced Technologies ESN 150 project received APEGGA's (The Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists and Geophysicists of Alberta) 2007 Summit® Award for Project Achievement.
