Employee Community Participation Program

Employee Community Participation Program

Last year Agrium supported many community initiatives that met the criteria for our Employee Community Participation Program. Our socially-aware employees applied and received financial help for youth sports and clubs and for charitable organizations in their area.

Employee Community Participation Program

Agrium donations and sponsorship meet a wide range of needs within our communities where we work, live and play. We support our employees in their efforts to give back locally through our Employee Community Participation Program. We ask employees to ensure their requests for support fall into one of these four areas: Youth, Health & Wellness, Environment and/or Arts & Culture.

Funding Criteria:

Only Agrium employees are eligible for support. Requests for contributions to a charity or not-for-profit organization that does not have the participation of an Agrium employee, or is greater than the Employee allocated amount, should be directed to our Local Community Investment Program for consideration.

Each site determines the amount that each employee, per year, can qualify for. Employees can apply based on the following programs:

1. Apply for a Volunteer Grant

Agrium will provide a financial contribution to support volunteer hours provided by an employee to a non-profit organization (example: sports teams, clubs, walk-a-thons). A minimum of ten volunteer hours are required to complete the application process.

2. Apply for a Matching Donation

Agrium will match contributions made by employees to non-profit organizations. The minimum donation required is $50 per year per employee. The maximum amount is determined by the site.

PLEASE NOTE: Requests that are approved will be paid on a first come, first served basis. Once allocated budget dollars have been used, no further funds will be allocated in that year.

Eligibility

The following causes are not eligible for contributions:

  • Organizations that allocate funds based on race, sex or religion
  • Political organizations
  • Organizations that have an administration fee in excess of 20% of contributions
  • Operating budgets for institutions like schools or hospitals
  • Organizations whose needs are already being met by existing Agrium funded activities like the United Way.

Application:

Employees are asked to contact their local community investment team.
