Agrium's Bruce Waterman named 2008 Chief Financial Officer of the Year

Agrium is proud to report that its CFO, Bruce Waterman, has been named Canada's 2008 Chief Financial Officer of the Year. This prestigious award is presented by Financial Executives International Canada, PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP and Caldwell Partners Ltd to a senior individual who has contributed to business in Canada with quality, insight and direction.

Mr. Waterman has shown continual drive and enterprise in his eight years as a member of Agrium's Senior Leadership Team and is recognized for his contributions to Canadian business. This award is a reflection of Mr. Waterman's dedication to implementing improvement and creating positive results.

The CFO of the year is selected by an independent committee comprised of Canada's most prominent business leaders and evaluated on such criteria as vision and leadership, corporate reporting and performance, social responsibility, innovation, and business complexity.

Mr. Waterman was presented the CFO of the Year award at a gala in Toronto on May 29, 2008.
