Customer Service Representatives

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Service these positions will deliver customer service and distribution support to all internal and external Agrium Advanced Technologies’ customers at a level that exceeds their expectations.  The ideal candidates will have experience in the agricultural or turf arena; outstanding customer service and organizational skills.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Answer calls and re-direct to appropriate person(s)/department if necessary
  • Answer customer inquiries, making recommendations when suitable
  • Process all orders received via phone, mail, fax, email or other into computer program
  • Answer questions related to product availability, price and delivery.  Provide formal price quotes based on established price lists. Trace shipments and report back to customer
  • Check status of back orders and advise customer of delivery date.  Participate in product allocation decisions
  • Complete return authorizations and arrange returns or credits for customer
  • Ensure all orders on credit hold are given approval and released by finance department
  • Liaison between customer and sales representatives
  • Maintain communication with other departments as appropriate; sales, operations, finance and marketing
  • Schedule freight carriers (truck/rail/marine), generate shipping documentation (bills of lading/customs), and coordinate carrier pickups with manufacturing sites as needed

Qualifications of the Position Include:

  • Demonstrated experience in handling a high volume of calls with an excellent telephone manner
  • Demonstrated experience in order entry and associated ERP software
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling freight carriers (rail, truck, marine)
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing order and shipping documentation
  • Strong problem solving skills, along with proven organizational skills
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of computer programs Excel, MSWord , Outlook
  • Demonstrated proficiency in learning and adopting new technology tools and ability to leverage advanced functionality of these tools in a short timeframe
  • Ability to maintain workflow on multiple ongoing tasks with attention to detail and ability to prioritize
  • Knowledge of product features, benefits and use an asset
