Operations Supervisor

Reporting directly to the Manager, Micronutrient Products, the Operations Supervisor, Reese Micronutrient Operations is responsible for all plant operations, including the supervision of the production, maintenance, and shipping and receiving departments, lab testing and quality control, all phases of budgeting, inventory management, environmental, health & safety compliance, and all aspects of employee management for 20-30 employees.  

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Providing leadership, supervision, and planning to achieve all plant operating objectives
• Ensuring compliance with all internal and external EH&S requirements 
• Monitoring plant activities and trends, including production costs, productivity and efficiency
• Overseeing quality control, including establishing standards and maintaining records for efficiency and quality achievement as well as continuous improvement
• Assisting in short- and long-range planning of operational activities and managing the plant and related departmental budgets from development through cost control
• Participate in all phases of employee management

Qualifications of the position include:

•  A degree in mechanical or chemical engineering, operations management or an equivalent combination of education and experience
•  Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing facility, focusing on quality production, heavy industrial maintenance, and employee development
•  In-dept knowledge of EH&S regulations, programs, procedures, and policies
• Self-starter, with a strong work ethic and proven track record of delivering on commitments
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem solving and organizational skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people
• Comfortable in an industrial environment using ‘hands-on’ management approach
