As part of the Mill Production Department, the Mill Superintendent will report to the Mill Manager at Vanscoy Potash Operations.   

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Effectively managing the department including directly supervising both salaried employees and indirectly managing unionized operators. 
• Maintaining compliance with environmental, safety, and governmental regulations;
• Review and approve safety inspection reports;
• Effectively communicating with other department heads;
• Financial budgeting including turnaround and annual budgeting, and creating 90-day production forecasts;
• Creating and developing new ideas for advanced company growth;
• Daily coordination of activities between work groups – Operations, Maintenance, Management, Marketing, Customers, Transportation and Sales, etc.
• Evaluating and decision-making on daily production and maintenance activity.

Qualifications of the position include:

• Possess a B.Sc. degree in engineering, business, or related degree (preferred, but not required);
• Have a minimum of 3+ years related work experience;
• Possess good written and verbal communication skills; 
• Have excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Skills in SAP a plus;
• Able to work with multiple tasks, prioritize and develop sound time lines; 
• Good personnel management skills;
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to work well in a fast paced “team” environment;
• Be a self-starter, able to work with little direct oversight;
• Possess problem solving, trouble-shooting, and diagnostic skills.
