Product Coordinator, Horticulture

Agrium Advanced Technologies, a decentralized business unit of Agrium, is currently recruiting for the following position located in Brantford, Ontario:

The primary responsibilities of this position include identifying products for the horticultural market, establishing pricing for these products and coordinating the sales effort in the field.  The successful candidate will have a strong agronomic or science background coupled with a keen interest in the Horticultural Industry.  The ability and motivation to grow beyond this role will also be considered.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Recommend products for the horticultural market that maximize our proprietary technology and meet the horticultural market needs
  • Coordinate R&D trials and participate as required
  • Develop spec sheets, price lists and cost/margin analysis to maximize profitability and competitiveness
  • Perform market analyses to identify market size, competition, pricing in order to develop plans to maximize sales and profitability
  • Coordinate conference and trade show activity including preparation and participation in the shows and conferences
  • Coordinate product marketing programs, facilitate quotations, and ensure all pricing information is communicated
  • Arrange miscellaneous promotional events and opportunities
  • Develop, organize and supply print advertising

Qualifications of the Position Include:

  • Bachelor of Science or related field
  • 3-5 years experience working in an agronomic environment
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge and the ability to do analytical work on the market
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills
  • Highly organized with multi-tasking abilities
  • Highly proficient computer skills, specifically strong Excel skills and the ability to gather market intelligence and other detail from the web
  • Demonstrated credibility and ability to build solid client-focused relationships
