Reporting to the Drafting Supervisor, the Technician I, Drafting will be accountable for maintaining engineering documents, indexes, and file systems, completing entry level drafting assignments and creating charts, graphs and forms.

Specific Responsibilities Will Include:

• Maintaining Engineering drawings, indexes and file systems for both electronic and paper formats.Assisting the department with general administrative duties, distribution of drawings, and assisting others in locating information or drawings.
• Progressively developing capabilities to perform increasingly complex drafting assignments in a multi disciplined engineering environment.
• Scanning, photocopying and filing drawings as required.
• Preparing graphs, charts, posters and certificates using graphic design software.
• Participation in the development of document control process and procedures and executing as required.

Qualifications of the Position Include:

• A completed Technical Certificate or equivalent with a minimum 2 years of related experience in either document control or drafting. 
• Skilled in the use of AutoCAD software would be considered a strong asset. 
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Word and Excel.
• Experience with CorelDraw, Photoshop or Informed Designer software is considered an asset.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem solving skills with the ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.  Production-oriented and self-motivated, with a strong customer focus.
• Strong desire to learn new skills and software as required.
• Ability to prioritize and balance a variable workload.
