Reporting to the General Manager, Canadian Phosphate Operations the Process Engineering Senior Supervisor is responsible for providing technical direction to the Redwater Phosphate Operations. This includes technical resource planning, development of projects, gypsum stack management, environmental and quality monitoring.
Specific Responsibilities Will Include:
• Providing leadership to the Redwater Phosphate Process Engineering team and mentorship for junior employees.
• Ensuring that the Phosphate department meets and exceeds specified performance indicators for the safe manufacturing of high quality fertilizer.
• Providing technical assistance and direction for unit troubleshooting, analysis and improvement efforts.
• Providing direct input into the development of the annual capital plan and budget as well as the long-term capital and operating outlook.
• Ensuring that sufficient front-end project development work is completed in support of Agrium’s Project Management Work Process, including providing necessary resources.
• Providing leadership and direction for the Management of Change system including adherence to the site Professional Management Practice plan.
• Providing technical leadership and resources for the development of all department turnaround planning and preparation.
• Maintaining the department’s Process Hazard Assessment (PHA) process by providing the necessary technical resources and ensuring adherence to the site and Agrium’s EMS elements for both the execution of the studies and the resolution of issues.
• Supporting and adhering to all Professional Practice Management Plans, Environmental Management Systems, and safety standards.
• Working collaboratively within the Phosphate Department, other departments on site as well as other Agrium facilities and the Corporate office.
Qualifications of the Position Include:
• Professional engineer with a minimum of 10 years of related experience, preferably in a process engineering role.
• Advanced problem-solving and decision-making capability.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to form and lead teams, delegate work and motivate direct reports.
• APEGGA certification with proven technical expertise.
• Experience developing, analyzing and coordinating financial budgets and information.
