Granulation Supervisor - Trainer

Essential Functions of the position

  • Supervises and directs day-to-day work activities of assigned personal and is accountable for work team results
  • Supervise operations and routine maintenance of equipment
  • Coordinate and plan work requirements
  • Develops and manages internal relationships within work team
  • Manage and measure performance of each direct report
  • Manages clear and well-defined business/operational processes
  • Must be able to work a rotating shift
  • Conduct safety training, on-the-job training, and train new employees
  • Monitor and ensure safe and efficient operations during shift operations
  • Responsible to operate shifts in a manner as to comply with company, local, state and federal rules and regulations
  • Support plant manager on various operational and plant projects when required         

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Education:  4-year college degree in science, agriculture or engineering preferred.
  • Experience:  1-2 years relevant experience in supervisory roll
  • Computer skills: Must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn  new operating systems
  • Able to communicate effectively with direct reports, peers and superiors
  • Mechanically minded with the ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment problems.
  • Ability to identify process improvement opportunities for work team
  • Result-focus with the ability to achieve the right business results in the right way at the right time.
  • Ability to take ownership and be accountable for behaviors, decisions and actions.
  • Demonstrates integrity in all our partnerships an uncompromising regard for respecting others, meeting commitments and communicating openly.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to change by possessing a spirit of innovation in the pursuit of operational excellence.
  • Leadership skills to grow people and the business.

Physical Requirements of the position        

  • Must be able to wear all applicable safety equipment
  • Physically able to climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 70 lbs
  • Must be able to work in a dusty and noisy environment
  • Must be able to use shovel, sledge hammer and air hammer
  • Work in ambient temperatures
  • Work with hazardous chemicals
