Reporting to the Manager, Wholesale Accounting in the Denver office, this position will be responsible for providing: ongoing accounting, reporting, analysis and support for Agrium’s North Bend facility, Purchase for Resale Business and responding to inquiries from the Wholesale business team.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Month/Quarter/Year-end accounting closing for the North Bend facility
• Forecasting, budgeting and direct plant support
• Assist in the accounting and analysis of production volume and cost efficiency variances
• Support the compilation, analysis and timely reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual Wholesale production accounting results
• Contract accounting and reconciliations for special contracts
• Assist in the accounting and analysis of the Purchase for Resale business
• Ensure ongoing functional compliance with SOx 404
• Support on-going initiatives and special projects

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in accounting or  finance
• Professional accounting designation a plus
• Minimum of  five years related work experience
• General knowledge of  GAAP
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products with extensive knowledge of Excel
• Knowledge of SAP and Agrium’s production accounting processes considered an asset
• Excellent communication, analytical and organizational skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and interface with various levels of management in a multi-task, deadline orientated, team environment
