Criteria for awarding funding

The project or program must:

• Benefit communities in which Agrium operates.
• Fall within one of Agrium's four community investment focus areas.
• Offer services and activities without regard to race, religion, creed, sex or sexual orientation.
• Satisfy a compelling community need that is not addressed by existing Agrium funded activities (for example, United Way organizations).
• Demonstrate a willingness to allow Agrium employees to participate in advisory and voluntary roles.
• Be a registered charitable organization to be considered for the Global Community Investment Program.
• Not support individual applicants, stand alone research or feasibility studies.
• Not support service clubs, labor, fraternal or religious organizations.
• Not support advocacy or lobbying groups.
• Not support private clubs funded through private membership.
• Not support commercial third-party fundraising and telephone solicitations.
• Not support local chapters of state, provincial, national or international organizations currently receiving support from Agrium.
• Not support political parties and organizations.
