A Message from Peter Stenzel, General Manager, Redwater & Fort Saskatchewan Fertilizer Operations
Agrium

For over 35 years we have operated safely at our Redwater facility and we want to continue operating here for many more years. Close to half of our 500 Redwater plant employees work in Phosphate fertilizer production and many of our employees live in the surrounding area. This extension allows us to continue our production.

Phase I, and earthwork for Phase II, is nearing completion. The site expects to be pumping gypsum into the extension area of Phase I by the end of October. Work on the project began in April and there has been an average of 35 pieces of heavy equipment at the site daily; graders, compactors, water trucks, dozers, scrapers and excavators. A video on the "construction process" is being produced and we hope to have it completed by end of this year.

Agrium continues our commitment to minimizing any impacts on the environment by using the best industry practice in the design, construction and operation of our gypsum stack extension. We continue to monitor both on site and offsite to confirm that emissions are well within our allowable limits.

Please navigate through our site and if you have any questions about our gypsum storage area, or about our operations at the Redwater facility, don’t hestitate to contact us.
