In order to minimize environmental impacts from the proposed extension area and maximize protection of groundwater, we will install a liner beneath the gypsum storage area in the extension area.  Groundwater (computer) models will be used to assess the impacts that the extension of the existing gypsum storage area may have on local groundwater movement.  The current local groundwater-monitoring network will be expanded to include the extension area. The annual groundwater monitoring program and reporting to Alberta Environment will continue.
