Seed Survivor Tours North America

Agrium is teaching the next generation about agriculture through Seed Survivor.

Seed Survivor is a curriculum-based interactive display that encourages elementary school-aged children to master the elements that plants need to grow. The 40’x50’ foot display features multi-media and virtual reality soil nutrient games, seed planting stations, insect video scopes, talking walls and more.

As an educational booth, all activities are designed to teach youth that plants need water, light, healthy soil and nutrients to survive. It also teaches them that plants are essential for human survival by producing food, income, oxygen and enjoyment for us all.

As a leader in fertilizer, Agrium believes it is important to share our knowledge about what they do best – growing healthy plants. Our long–term vision is to help teachers and educators demonstrate the role of agriculture in the environment, society and the economy.

Rose Lecky, Agrium’s Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility said, “We want kids to grow up to be healthy eaters, to be interested in agriculture and most importantly to be informed citizens.”

Seed Survivor tours North America year round, visiting provincial and state agricultural fairs. Past stops include the Calgary Stampede (Calgary, AB), the Royal Winter Fair (Toronto, ON), the Arkansas State Fair (Little Rock, AR) and the Benton Franklin State Fair (Kennewick, WA). Due to the demand for Seed Survivor, we have plans in the works to make Seed Survivor even more portable. Watch for Seed Survivor in a community near you.

Agrium offers the booth free of charge to agriculture or children’s exhibitions. To request Seed Survivor please contact Agrium Corporate Relations at 403-225-7782.
