New Year, Great Beginning

The beginning of a new year is always a much anticipated event and to top it off, Agrium has been named one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (2017) for the fifth consecutive year.

At Agrium, we believe that the energy of today’s young minds will secure our future success and we’re committed to supporting individuals of all ages as they grow their careers. We are incredibly proud to again be named one of this year’s award winners, announced today in a special magazine published in The Globe and Mail.

As Michael Webb, Senior Vice President, Human Resources, shared in the Globe and Mail article, “Young employees increasingly tell us they want their jobs to have a clear meaning and ultimate benefit to society. We believe we can help them achieve that balance and it’s something that gives me great hope for the future.”

Canada's Top Employers for Young People is an editorial competition that evaluates and recognizes the country’s best employers with programs in place to attract, develop, and retain younger workers. With about 24 per cent of our workforce between the ages of 18 and 34 in North America, the reasons Agrium was selected as one of Canada’s Top Employers for Young People (2017) include:

  • Our Young Professionals Network which helps grow careers and expand networks
  • Tuition assistance for employee continuing education
  • Formal mentorship program
  • Paid internships and rotational programs for students and recent grads
